Power and Infrastructure Resourcing (PIR) Workforce Delivery Manager Kirstie Nicholson raised awareness and funds by sleeping on a railway station floor in support of Railway Children in February 2025.
Railway Children is a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting children primarily in India, East Africa, and the UK, who live in or around railway stations. The charity’s mission is to protect vulnerable children who are at risk of exploitation, trafficking, and abuse, often due to being separated from their families or living in difficult circumstances.
After sleeping overnight at Glasgow Central station, Kirstie said: “The sleepout was a fantastic event for a great cause. I was awarded for the Highest Fundraiser for this initiative; I couldn’t have done it without the very generous support of my Power and Infrastructure Resourcing colleagues – their support is greatly appreciated.”
Through partnerships with businesses and local communities, Railway Children aims to create lasting change. We are proud supporters and believe in making a real difference to support the lives on vulnerable children around the world. We would like to congratulate Kirstie and all the other individuals that participated in the sleepout – well done all!
